As the New Year approaches on the horizon some of us start to think about what our New Year’s resolution should be. Why not consider updating your resume? Unlike the millions of gym resolutions with failed attempts after the first 30 days. This resolution requires light physical effort and maximum brain power. Whether you are on the market for a new job or staying put where you are. The new year brings about a general feeling of change in everyone and now is the perfect time to put this heighten sense of change to use.
Open your old resume file and give your resume a refresh. If you haven’t touched your resume in a while than you have a bit of work cut out for you. You’ll want to update the new skills you have acquired, promotion and/or job responsibilities. If you updated your resume within the last year go over it again with a fresh eye, check for sentence structure and use of key words. You may want to even decide that your resume needs a change in design for a newer look. If your resume is updated to your liking head over to your LinkedIn in profile and makes some updates as well. LinkedIn data shows more people update their profile with a new job in January compared to any other month. That means that you should be updating your resume like…RIGHT Now! Looking back at to the last 354 days of 2021 I definitely needed to make some updates to my current resume and my LinkedIn profile.
